Q:  How often do I need to come in for facials?

A: During your first visit, we will recommend a course of treatment that meets your specific needs.  The recommended schedule will vary for each person depending on the severity of their acne and how well they follow the recommended protocols. Our goal is to get each client to the point where their appointments are spaced out further and further apart.

Q :  How quickly can I expect to see results when using your products and getting facials?

A: The results will mostly be determined by you. If you follow our recommendations, you can expect to see results after your first visit. Are you willing to make the necessary dietary changes, will you use the products at home as instructed and follow with the recommended facial treatment schedule?  

Q:  I've had facials before, but always break out afterwards? Am I going to break out after a facial at Tamahra’s Secret?

A: No. At Tamahra’s Secret, we train our Estheticians for a minimum of six months before they are permitted to accept clients. That training takes place after they fulfill their schooling and state licensing requirements. We teach our Estheticians how to completely clean out the pore with our special extractions techniques, thus avoiding potential breakouts. All Tamahra's Secret Estheticians are trained by Gail Kent, extractions Guru and owner.

The reason most people break out after receiving facials at other salons is that the entire plug was not removed during the extraction process. The extraction was done improperly. By cleaning out the pore entirely, you virtually eliminate your chances for breakouts.

Q:  Can you describe your facial, why it is unique and how should I expect to look afterwards?

A: The Tamahra's Secret facial is a two, to two and a half hour long facial. It takes time to prepare the skin for extractions. We want the plugs to be soften so that they can be removed easier. We then remove blackheads, bumps under the skin, cysts and pustules. After the extraction process, we massage the skin and use specific products to help to reduce redness and swelling.

For those with blackheads or minor cases of acne, you can expect minimal to no redness and inflammation. Your skin will look and feel cleaner and smoother. For those with acne that is reddened and inflamed, you can expect to leave with about the same amount of redness. However, the inflammation will be reduced, since the plugs and infection were removed. For all skin conditions, it is not unusual to experience a minor amount of peeling a few days after the facial.

Q:  What kind of results can I expect if I use the products but don't get the facials?

A:  Our clients tell us that they start seeing an improvement in their skin immediately with the use of our products. You will definitely see great improvement from just using our products. However, if you are experiencing acne, we highly recommend getting a Tamahra's Secret facial to speed up your results. The facial will remove blackheads, bumps under the skin, cysts, and infected pustules.  It is important to physically remove these plugs in order to achieve maximum results. It is what we call “instant gratification.” You see dramatic results right away.

Q:    How long do my products typically last?

A:    When using the products correctly at home, you can expect them to last:

     Mineral Freshener, Ionic Spritzer: Two to three months

     Cleanser:  One month

     Toner:  Two months

     Masques: Two to three months

     Zit-O: Two to three months

     Blue Lotion: Two to three months

     Small Creams (1/2 oz) : Four to six months

     Large Creams (1 oz) : Six to eight months

Q:    Can I use other products while using the Tamahra's Secret products?

A:    We do not suggest you use other product lines while using Tamahra's Secret products, as it can interfere with the results you are trying to obtain. We choose our ingredients to address specific skin conditions. Our products are all-natural and do not contain parabens, chemical emulsifiers, fragrances, colors, or other chemical preservatives. In addition, our products work together as a system, synergistically, each serving a very specific purpose.

Other products contain parabens, chemical preservative, emulsifiers, artificial colors and fragrances, and harsh drying agents.

Q:  Do you carry products for skin types other than Acne?

A:  Yes we do. We carry products for all skin types:  normal, dry, sensitive, oily, acne-prone and anti-aging. Our Blue Lotion also works wonderfully reducing the redness associated with Rosacea. 

Q:    My skin is really oily. Why should I clean my face with an oil-based cleanser?

A:    When you use harsh, drying products, you strip your skin of its natural oils and of its acid mantle which protects the skin from bacteria. This causes your body to compensate for the lost moisture by producing more oil. Now you have dry, flaky skin that gets very oily in the middle of the day. Sound familiar?

At Tamahra's Secret, we believe in the homeopathic principle of treating likes with likes. We use oil to dissolve oil. The oils that we use are similar to those of your own natural sebum. This "tricks" your skin into thinking it already has enough oil, thereby decreasing the amount of oil you produce. You actually become less oily without the harsh drying effects of other product lines. that it needs healthy skin

Q:   My skin is very oily, do I still need to moisturize?

A:   Yes. Your skin needs some oil for nourishment and protection. By properly hydrating your skin, you will actually become less oily.  Your skin will be healthier and look and feel more supple. 

Q:   Does what I eat really affect my skin? Is diet important?

A:   It most certainly does. You are what you eat, as they say. Some people have a hard time metabolizing certain foods and/ or dietary fats. This can lead to an increase in sebum production, the development of sebacious cysts, and problems with acidity. At Tamahra's Secret, we address not only your skin, but your diet and lifestyle as well.

Q:   Since Tamahra's Secret products do not contain preservatives, do I need to refrigerate them?

A:   Only Blue Lotion requires refrigeration. Although we do not use chemical preservatives in our products, some of the essential oils act as a natural preservative.
